When We Are ClosedNHS111

Under the New GP Contract your local Primary Care Trust is responsible for your medical service ‘out of hours’ (18:30 - 08:00 weekdays, all weekend and on bank holidays).

If you require urgent medical attention or advice that cannot wait until the surgery is open, please call NHS 111 - by dialling 111

For non-urgent health information or advice, you can also contact NHS 111

Alternatively you can call your normal surgery number and the above numbers will be given to you via answerphone – please have a pen/paper ready.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.  Click here for more guidance.
