SMS/Email consent

The Practice collects mobile telephone numbers and email addresses for communication purposes, including SMS/text messaging. Electronic communication is a more efficient and cost-effective method of communicating with you, and could include:

  • appointment booking confirmations and reminders, or cancellations;
  • notification of missed appointments;
  • reminders and invitations to book an appointment (e.g. NHS health checks, cervical screening etc. where appropriate);
  • notification of test results and if we need to speak to you;
  • updates about your health care (e.g. referrals to services, prescription and medication updates, new services available to help you manage your medical conditions);
  • copies of clinical documents, such as MED3 (sick) certificates;
  • requests for you to contact the Practice, or requests to complete surveys providing feedback about services;
  • public health information (e.g. important updates relating to COVID-19), or updates about local and national health promotions;
  • practice information (e.g. change in opening hours), or to make you aware of services provided by the surgery that we feel will be to your benefit.

The Practice aims to keep communication to a minimum and will only contact you when necessary to do so for your direct health care, service updates and for the essential task and function of the Practice. You can manage your communication preferences if you have a SystmOnline Account, by going to Account > Change Contact Details or by contacting the Practice via email - itqa@nhs.net
